College graduation not only brought with it bright and promising business opportunities for Courtney. It also brought a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, that Courtney used to teach seventh grade Social Studies at MS 57 in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, NY (not mentioned in bio). Though this opportunity was brief, it exposed Courtney to newly found passion of teaching.
Today, Courtney is still just as passionate about teaching. Instead of seventh grade Social Studies, the focus has shifted to his love of music and DJing. His goal and vision is to educate, empower and enlighten today's urban youth to the endless possibilities of transforming a passion (theirs) into entrepreneurship and income that will enable them to better compete in today's global economy.
Courtney covers a wide range of DJ related topics in his groundbreaking series of Educational Workshops titled "A DJ From The Start". These workshops were specifically created to carry out Courtney's vision of educating, empowering and enlightening today's urban youth.
There are a total of four, "A DJ From The Start" Educational Workshops: Overview, DJ Basics & Technology, Business Strategy & Marketing and The Art Of "DJing". The first three are 1.5 hour content based presentations, with Q & A at the end. The fourth (The Art Of DJing) however, is a series of curriculum based training sessions where participants receive training on "everything DJ". Training sessions are flexible by design and can range from 1-12 weeks (depending on participants' progress).
